1984 – BodyBusiness is founded in Austin, Texas by Susan Cooper and Penny Reeves-Goff. BodyBusiness originally opens as an aerobics-only studio, becoming well known in the U.S. for its knowledge and excellence in fitness programming.

1986 – BodyBusiness rated one of the top 10 aerobics studios in the U.S. by Shape Magazine.

1986 – BodyBusiness opens three aerobics studios.

1987 – BodyBusiness creates BEST, BodyBusiness Educational Services and Training. This organization supports a training program for fitness professionals accredited by AFAA, the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, and ACE, the American Council on Exercise. Susan begins traveling worldwide training fitness professionals for AFAA, ACE, and BEST.

1989 – Susan is recruited by NIKE to be a sponsored Fitness Athlete. She travels worldwide with other NIKE Elites to provide educational seminars to fitness professionals.

1992 – BodyBusiness moves to a new location, 10,000 square feet and becomes a full service health club.

1993 – BodyBusiness wins a National Nova 7 Award from Fitness Management Magazine for Exercise Programming.

1994 – BodyBusiness expands to 13,000 square feet and introduces PACE circuit classes to Austin.

1996 – BodyBusiness expands to 15,000 square feet and is the first health club to introduce indoor cycling classes to Austin.

1998 – BodyBusiness wins 2 Nova 7’s for customer service and exercise programming.

1999 – BodyBusiness sets its first membership cap at 3000 members to ensure quality and prevent crowding.

2000 – BodyBusiness is voted Best Gym in Austin by Austin Fit readers.

2001 – BodyBusiness opens The Studio – a 3,000 square foot private space that offers Pilates, massage, acupuncture, yoga, NIA, personal training, and many other mind/body related services and classes.

2002 - BodyBusiness Recognized as the Best Fitness Studio in Austin in the May/June 2002 issue of Healing Retreats & Spa Magazine.

2003 - BodyBusiness raises over $12,000 for MS Research making this our largest fundraising effort to date. Team BodyBusiness completed the MS150 charity bike race from Houston to Austin finishing as the 3rd highest fundraising team from Austin!

2003- BodyBusiness launches the Community Business Partnership program offering our members discounts at local businesses just for being a member of BodyBusiness.

2003 – BodyBusiness is voted the Best Health Club in Austin in the Best of 2003 CitySearch Audience Poll.

2004 – Fitness Management Magazine awards BodyBusiness two, national Nova 7 Awards for excellence in the fitness industry. One for our user friendly website and a second for our innovative marketing and management practices. BodyBusiness remains the only health club in Austin to win even one of these prestigious awards and this brings the total number of Nova 7 Awards for Excellence to seven for BodyBusiness since 1993.

May 2004 - BodyBusiness announces a second location in Davenport Village.

June 2004 - BodyBusiness Davenport Ground Breaking and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony marks the start of construction at BodyBusiness Davenport.

December 13th, 2004 - BodyBusiness Davenport opens!

January 2005 - BodyBusiness is voted the Best Health Club in Austin in the Best of 2005 CitySearch Audience Poll.

2005 - BodyBusiness Anderson sets a membership cap of 2,250. Our continuous effort to provide a postively memorable experience to our members on each and every visit has lead us to set a new membership cap of 2,250 members at BodyBusiness Anderson. This cap will support our efforts to provide our members with exceptional service in a comfortable atmosphere.

January 2006 - BodyBusiness is voted Best Health Club in Austin in the Best of 2006 CitySearch Audience Poll.

January 2006 - BodyBusiness has the Best Personal Trainers in Austin according to the Best of 2006 CitySearch Audience Poll.

December 2006 - BodyBusiness Davenport: 250 memberships remain. Our members spoke. We listened! To ensure continued service with the utmost care, we have lowered our membership cap.

December 13th, 2006 - BodyBusiness Davenport turns 2!

March 2007 - BodyBusiness owner Susan Cooper joins IHRSA Board of Directors. Susan was recognized for her innovations and experience in the fitness industry with a nomination to the prestigious Board of Directors of the International Health & Racquet Sportsclub Association. IHRSA represents over 8,500 health & fitness facilities in 74 countries. IHRSA's mission is to support and connect quality businesses and help them provide the highest quality service to their members.

November 2007 - BodyBusiness is voted Best Health Club in Austin in the Best of 2007 CitySearch Audience Poll.

January 2008 - BodyBusiness Anderson Lane reveals a new look with renovations around the club!
